When most people hear the word church they probably think of a building. But biblically speaking, a church is much more than a building...it’s all about the people.

NYCC VISION STATEMENT: Is a Church that Cares and Reaches the Lost!

For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost." Luke 19:10

He wants us to become finders of the lost, regardless of the kind of people they are or the kind of lives they live.

What Is the Church Supposed to Do? The church must

Instruct, the church must fellowship, the church must Minister, the church must worship, the church must Baptized, and the church must observe the Lord’s Supper every first day of the week.

PROPOSITION: Here are some clear visible Goals for NYCC to Attain. listen and obey what the Lord says.

I. NYCC, IS A LOVING CHURCH. Amen! Often one of the first criticism leveled at churches is that they are not loving. In one congregation a woman told to pastor that she thought the church was not loving. What was revealing was that she only came once every several months. It was hard to understand how she came to that conclusion ..because it seldom to come and she never participated in any church event.

Most times that is not true of a local church, but it is awful hard to counter the charge. Most times the people making the claim are those who have left and use this accusation to justify their leaving. - I HEARD A CLAIM I LEFT because of poor English.

They lay the fault in the laps of others. However, the people who are faithful to their local church know the truth.

Of course it should be our desire to have a loving church that reaches out to it members, the lost, and the community.

A. A Genuine, Whole-Hearted, Sincere Love for God. Mark 12:30. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength

How to Have a More Loving Church? One of the most important factors for the growth of NYCC, is how loving we are as a member. It’s absolutely essential that we lead our church to be love-filled communities. It is love that reaches people.

The Supreme Command Given to Church

12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. JN. 15:12-14

God calls us to love for what? In loving people as Christ did we are reflecting Christ love, loving others as a result of Salvation,

LOVING ONE ANOTHER IS AN EVIDENCE OF CHRISTIANITY:

Philippians 2:3-5 says, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourself.
4 Each of you should look not only to your own interest but also the interest of others.” Your attitude should be the same as that Christ Jesus.

Give everybody a lift whenever you can. I Thess. 5:11 says, “Encourage one another and build each other up.”

Correction Does Much. But Encouragement Does More!

When people stumble, don’t criticize, sympathize. Be an encourager, not a condemner. You can encourage people just by smiling at them. The ministry of greeters in the church is crucial and vital. You only have one chance to make a first impression

Absolutely nothing can stop the church that’s filled with love. Nothing. It doesn’t happen accidentally. It requires an all-out effort by each member. Everybody needs to contribute to the atmosphere of the church. Love draws outside people in.

I believe that God is just waiting for a church that will love people unconditionally. He can use that kind of church to spark a spiritual awakening in your home that all the forces of hell couldn’t stop. It would change the climate of your community for Christ. Nothing can stop a loving church.

B. We Need To Love One Another. 1 Pet. 1:22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart

Love is fully love only when it acts! Feeling beneficially to others is worthless unless it produces action.

I like to ask the question what did you do to make the church more loving? We can let God speak on the matter.

Jesus said, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35). What does this type of love entail? Scripture gives us the answer

Jesus said: “A new commandment I give unto you that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another” John 13:34

Instead of judging others: Increase our LOVE TO THE LORD.

II. NYCC, IS A LOYAL CHURCH. For my 24 years in the church, I seen loyalty here at NYCC, during the storm- you remain not being sway by YOUR FEELING.

THE LOYAL IN CHRIST’S CHURCH WILL BE REJOICING. In the Lord’s parable of the talents, both faithful servants were told-“Well done, thou good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” (Matthew 25:21, 23)

Although believers are to rejoice continually in the prospect of their Lord’s coming again, they are not to sit back in idleness and do nothing. Saving faith is serving faith.

A. We Need To Be Loyal in Attitude. A BAD ATTITUDE IS LIKE A FLAT TIRE. IF YOU DON’T CHANGE IT, YOU’LL NEVER GO ANYWHERE.

1. We Must Avoid the Attitude of Indifference. Rev. 3:15-16 15 I know what you have done; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were either one or the other! 16 But because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of my mouth!

2. We Must Avoid the Attitude of Self-Righteousness. Luke 18:9-14

9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people-robbers, evildoers, adulterers-or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

When you judge, usually it will eventually come back to you. Most of us are in such a habit of judging and criticizing others that we don’t think about how it affects others as well as how it affects us in our walk with the Lord.

An old Proverb: "He who is looking for faults in his brethren shall surely find them."

CONCLUSION:

Jesus tells us what is true love! What a wonderful thing it is to love others. To be a peace with others. A person who truly loves cannot be easily hurt will rarely ever get bitter and will not criticize others. The see the business of being forgiving as their privilege in Christ Jesus....as children of God.

May God help us to apply these godly principles in our lives and be loving Christians, and therefore may this we here continue be a loving Church.
