Psalm 37:7 - Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
What is Patience?
- the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset
- Waiting without complaining
Pursuing Patience
1 Timothy 6:11 - But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
Ephesians 4:1-2 -1As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
1. Pray
1 John 5:14-15 - 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of him.
2. Make a Mental Adjustment
Instead of complaining about waiting, think about changes the Lord would be proud of
Or
Think about waiting on the Lord
3. Be Thankful
Romans 15:5 - May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,
James 1:2 - Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds,
4. Keep Quiet
Through anger DO NOT force any out
5. Don’t Give Up
Mark 10:27 - Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
