Introduction:

Our hardworking lovely mums, 9momths you become uneasy and you can’t do the things you want to do because I was in your womb. After you gave me birth YOU ALMOST LOSS YOUR LIFE, your pain was profound but when you see me as a little cute baby- ALL THE PAIN, STRUGGLE REVERSES INTO JOYFUL AS YOU CHERISH the miracle of God..THAT’S ME MOM- Happy Mothers Day!

SON’S AND DAUGHTERS give the respect, honor and love that they deserve. GIVE THEM A DAY OFF ON MOTHERS DAY out of 365 days in a year since we were in their womb your mom my mom NO DAY OFF!

Today, here at NYCC, May 12, 2019 I officially PROCLAIMED all our mother’s Day off- treat them in a godly way. Many Christians owe their Christian life to their mothers.

To be honest, a mother, human as she is, it’s really wonderful unique creature whose love knows no bound is NEVER WAVERING, NEVER WANING.

A mother, perhaps, is the rarest of all of God’s creation. A University of Michigan survey reported 80% of 11-18 year-old girls desired to be just like their mothers. This suggests that one mother is a very strong force in a child’s life.

All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother. Abraham Lincoln

TEXT: I Jn 3:16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Each Sunday we gather together to remember the death of Jesus, the greatest sacrifice of all and learn how we can be better fathers, mothers and children. Today is set aside as mother’s Day across our nation. It is a day for children to honor their mother, and to think about the sacrificial love that mother’s have given to their children.

Always love your mom because you will never get another one.

There are many lessons that we can learn from mothers ---lessons that help us define

The Love and Sacrifice of Mother.

Jochebed-Mother of Moses”

Numbers 26:59-The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed the daughter of Levi who was born to Levi in Egypt; and to Amram she bore Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam.

Jochebed concerned was the welfare of her son, upon hearing the declaration nor decree of King Pharaoh about killing 8 years old baby boy.

His mom tried everything she can to hide the little boy but came to the point that she never hid no more. He was placed in a basket and set afloat.

Exodus 1:22 NKJV So Pharaoh commanded all his people saying, Every son who is born you shall cast into the river and every daughter you shall save alive.

Imagine, the risk and stress of Moses Mother thinking the future of her son- floating in a basket, pretty sure she became sleepless. Glory to God because He was later found by the daughter of Pharaoh.

Jochebed, being in the territory nor kingdom of Pharaoh- was being bless and never expect to offer a job to taking care of the baby Moses which Pharaoh’s family never knew that Jochebed is the mother of Moses.

Jochebed was offered wages to nurse the baby. At to this point upon offering to take good care Moses, was overwhelming feeling. Consider the tears of Jochebed as she nursed her own son, unable to tell anyone, unable to plan for his future, knowing she could not keep him!

A pagan named him Moses and called him son! She was willing to trust in God. She showed faith and confidence in God.

Could she have known that this little boy, that she showed sacrificial love toward would lead a nation of God’s people?

It is important to note that Jochebed never blamed God for her troubles, but rather made the best of the situation that was presented.

She remained loyal to her God!

In the home, nothing can replace a godly mother. Son’s and daughter’s be proud of your mom’s for the rest of your life.

Prov 1:8 Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.

A mother who is always a godly example for her children.

How sinful are those youth who speak gently to their friends..while they shout of their mothers.

Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old. May your father and mother rejoice; may she who gave you birth be joyful! Pro. 23:22;25

Every child should be so thankful for mothers who have showed their love and devotion and sacrificial love for their family!

children honor Mother

Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise: "that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth."

Conclusion:

John 15:12-13 "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends
