Sunday, November 6, 2016 - Love Life And See Good Days
Pastor Roger Marcos
Nov. 6, 2016
On 2008 the month of August I received an email to someone at church after my acceptance to a pastoral job at NYCC.
Dear bro. Roger,
God has called you for a special reason. Your faithfulness to Him has brought you to where you are right now. Shepherding the flock is not an easy task. We will always be here to support you in whatever way we can. Our prayers will always be with you. Together we will bring God's commission into this world. You are not alone. You may encounter difficulties but remember that God is your strength and refuge. May your dedication and love for the ministry continue to flourish- Your fellow Servant!!!!!!
I am being thankful for such a very encouraging one specially the strong words we will always be here to support you in whatever way we can. What a tremendous encouragement but the person left, I never think that way but is not beyond my control.
The best way to live day to day is with love and appreciation. Do you feel like you're missing something, or do you want to learn how to live your life to its highest potential? If you're not sure where to begin, start loving your life and removing things that are preventing you from feeling love toward your life.
Surround yourself with loving people. Having positive, supportive people around you will reduce your stress and keep you happier. Loving your life isn't a single person task, we all need the support and love of people we care about and respect.
Live your life, Love your life, Enjoy your life.. NO Matter What? Amen!
Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days. Ps.34:12
Text: 10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.
Eph. 6:13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand IN THE EVIL DAY.
Apostle Peter says, SEE GOOD DAYS, while, Ephesians 6:13 evil day is singular while in fact good days is plural.
Other thing to consider is in the book of Paul in 2 Corinthians 6:2
2 For He says: “In an acceptable (DEKTOS) time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you. ”Behold, now is the accepted (Dektos) time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
DEKTOS- the most blessed time when salvation and free favours of God profusely abound.
Luke 4:19- to proclaim the acceptable (dektos) year of the Lord.
Do you want a good marriage? Do you want to live a long and happy life with your spouse? If your answer is “Yes, that’s exactly what I want,” you need to pay close attention to the words of Peter recorded in 10 As the scripture says,
“If you want to enjoy life and wish to see good days, you must keep from speaking evil and stop telling lies.
I. WHO IS ABLE TO LOVE LIFE & SEE GOOD DAYS? Verse 10 For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. NLT
Can you think of a time when you got so angry that you exploded and spewed destructive words? Were you sorry later that you said those words? That is what Peter is talking about here. He is basically saying, “If you want to have a long and happy life together, you have to learn how to refrain from saying ugly, hurtful, and destructive things to each other. It’s time for you to cease from this behavior!”
A. Those Who Understands the Promises & Limitations Of Life. (Ecclesiastes)
1. It’s Balance 1:3-11; 3:1; 7:14). 3 You spend your life working, laboring, and what do you have to show for it? 4 Generations come and generations go, but the world stays just the same. 5 The sun still rises, and it still goes down, going wearily back to where it must start all over again. 6 The wind blows south, the wind blows north-round and round and back again. 7 Every river flows into the sea, but the sea is not yet full. The water returns to where the rivers began, and starts all over again. 8 Everything leads to weariness-a weariness too great for words. Our eyes can never see enough to be satisfied; our ears can never hear enough. 9 What has happened before will happen again. What has been done before will be done again. There is nothing new in the whole world. 10 “Look,” they say, “here is something new!” But no, it has all happened before, long before we were born. 11 No one remembers what has happened in the past, and no one in days to come will remember what happens between now and then.
Eccl. 7:14 14 When things are going well for you, be glad, and when trouble comes, just remember: God sends both happiness and trouble; you never know what is going to happen next.
2. It’s Joy. 2:24 The best thing we can do is eat and drink and enjoy what we have earned. And yet, I realized that even this comes from God.
Eccl. 3:12-13 So I realized that all we can do is be happy and do the best we can while we are still alive. 13 All of us should eat and drink and enjoy what we have worked for. It is God's gift.
II. LIVE WITH GOD IN ORDER TO HAVE GOOD LIFE?
A. Stop Evil Speech & The Evil Heart Which Causes It - 1 Pet. 3:8-10 To conclude: you must all have the same attitude and the same feelings; love one another, and be kind and humble with one another. 9 Do not pay back evil with evil or cursing with cursing; instead, pay back with a blessing, because a blessing is what God promised to give you when he called you. 10 As the scripture says,
“If you want to enjoy life and wish to see good times, you must keep from speaking evil and stop telling
B. Turn Away From Evil - 1 Pet. 3:11 You must turn away from evil and do good; you must strive for peace with all your heart.
The Love of Life
It is a most unfortunate circumstance that so many do not “love life.” Thousands annually commit suicide. Others, though not approaching that extremity, are terribly unhappy. Many can scarcely remember the last truly happy day they experienced. Each day is a drudgery filled with pain and woe. Unfortunately, some of these are professing children of God.
Are you happy in your present life?
Conclusion:
Today is the day of salvation tomorrow may be too late.
Many people put off accepting Christ as their Savior because think they are "too busy" or have other "more important" things to do with their lives right now. The truth is we do not know when our lives will come to an end. The only preparation for tomorrow is the right use of today.
Where Do You Wish to Spend Eternity?
1. The blessed privilege of living forever w/ the Lord in heaven.
2. The terrible anguish of living forever w/ Satan in burning hell.
