TEXT: Romans 14:10-13

INTRO: We worry about so many things, debt, safety, time, money, our children, our health, sometimes we even worry about how much we worry, we worry so much that we can’t sleep in night.

Do you know what I’m talking about.! In Luke 10: Jesus visit the house of Mary and Martha and while Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus listening to him talk, Martha was in the Kitchen doing all the preparations and Martha began to get worried because she stuck doing everything herself, and so she came and complain to Jesus. Vs. 40 says “she came up to him and said, Lord do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone, then tell her to help me but the answered and said to her “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered so many things but only one thing is necessary for Mary has chosen the good/right part which shall not be taken away from her. Jesus tells Martha, only one thing is necessary when we are overcome with worry we have done what Martha we forgotten one thing sitting at the feet of Jesus, but we so often put our trust and other things that when they don’t work out the way we want them to we start to worry and we become afraid because we’re so focused on our own agenda and when something gets off track you can handle it because we’ve lost control, but the real problem is not that we’ve lost control but that we have forgotten that we we’re never meant to be in control in the first place.

In John 14:1 “Jesus says do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.” And we wait in the presence of the Lord and hand control over to him and say Lord your plans to be accomplished not mine he reminds us that his plans have not faltered when you put your trust in God he will take care of you when you can’t take care of yourself.

What is the right thing to do? The right thing to do is like what Mary deed to Jesus,

Songs 127: to be says for he gives to his beloved even in his sleep, hat means if you’re trusting in God when your asleep he’s up working to make sure you’re well taken care of one time I was praying and seeking God about an important decision because I fell like he was leading me to start working for myself doing contract and I was praying and saying God I don’t feel like I’m gonna be able to provide for my family. I don’t feel like I’m going to be able to do this but in my spirit I knew that God was telling me don’t worry I’ve got it and so I got down on my knees and I said God you’re in control, you’re our provider, I’m gonna trust you with this and the very next day after I said that I got a phone call with someone offering enough contract work to keep me going and I knew that it wasn’t anything that I had done it was God, another time I found myself burdened by the amount of work that I was having to do, I was working late hours because I was worried that if I didn’t work enough I wouldn’t be able to provide for my family and so I came before God and said God I’m tired I’m working all the time. I don’t know what to do and God said to me stop working I’ve got it and I stop working, I can’t do that or else there won’t be enough. I won’t be able to provide but God against it stopped working, I’ve got it and so I look off work an hour early bed and as soon as I look off I went outside and I checked the mail and in the mailbox was a random check for five hundred dollars that I could never have predicted and I knew that it was God that was providing for us.

I’m not telling you that God doesn’t want you to work I’m telling you he doesn’t want you to worry.

Jesus remind us of the most wonderful thing and if you will begin to seek this one thing first you will see your problems from his perspective and not your own. I bet if I all powerful loving God looked down at the issues in your life. He would say this is what all the fuss is about really, I can handle that don’t worry. Isaiah 40:31 aces “yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new string, they will mount up with wings like eagles.

WHY DO WE PAY SO MUCH ATTENTION?

1: EYES ON OTHERS

  1. WE LOOK AT OTHERS POSSESSIONS
  2. WE LOOK AT OTHERS GAINS
  3. WE LOOK AT THEIR GOODS AND BADS.

WE LOOK AT OTHERS AND WE TEND TO MAKE A DECISION ON WHETER OR NOT THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE OR BAD PEOPLE, HOLY OR HEATHEN, WE SEEM TO PAY SO MUCH ATTENTION TO OTHERS LIVES WE FORGET TO LOOK AT OUR OWN.

2: HELPING OTHERS WHEN WE NEED TO HELP OURSELVES

  1. WE SEE PEOPLE AND THEIR PROBLEMS
  2. SOME FEEL AS THOUGH THEY CAN HELP
  3. RIGHTFULLY SOME CAN
  4. BUT EVERYONE HAS AN OPINON.

EVERYONE IS AN EXPERT, A MARRIAGE GURU, A DIETITIAN,OR EVEN A DOCTOR. IN SOME CASES PEOPLE FOCUS TOO MUCH ON OTHERS AND NOT ENOUGH ON WHAT IS GOING ON IN THEIR ON HOME WITH THEIR OWN FAMILY. PEOPLE SHOULD LOOK TO THEIR OWN FAILURES AND DEFEATS AND LEARN HOW TO SUCEED THEM AND GROW FROM THEIR TRIALS AND HANDLE WHAT’S AT HOME BEFORE TRYING TO COOK IN SOMEONE ELSES KITCHEN!!

BODY: ROMANS 14:10-13

10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister ? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. 11 It is written: “ ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ” 12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God. 13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.

1: WHY ARE YOU JUDGMENTAL?

  1. IN MOST CASES THINGS PEOPLE ARE MOST JUDGMENTAL ABOUT ARE THINGS THEY STRUGGLE WITH THEMSELVES.(we are judging instantly by their doing for what reason they had done on it but we don’t know yet the truth..coz you know in bible said the truth will set you free. we are not judging others right away coz it is a sin and destroy your innocence life.
  2. THE SCRIPTURE SAYS WHY DO YOU REDUCE/judge YOUR BROTHER TO NOTHING?
  3. PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES, THEY DO STUPID THINGS.

PROBLEM IS THE REST OF US THINK WE ARE THE JUDGE THE JURY AND THE EXECUTIONER. PART OF JESUS’S GREAT COMMANDMENT WAS TO LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF. WE SEEM TO HAVE TROUBLE WITH THAT WE SAY WE LOVE GOD AND THAT WE LOVE OTHERS BUT WE TEND TOO DWELL ON PEOPLE’S PAST SIN AND PRESENT DAY PROBLEM.

2: GRASS IS JUST GRASS

  1. SIN WILL CAUSE US TO LOOK ON OUR BROTHER’S POSSESSIONS
  2. WE SOMETIMES TEND TO THINK THAT OTHERS BLESSINGS ARE BETTER.
  3. THE OLD SAYING GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE

THE DEVIL IS THE AUTHOR OF CONFUSION HE IS SET ON CONFUSING US AND CAUSING US TO SLIP AND FALL ON OUR JOURNEY WITH CHRIST. SIN WILL CREEP IN AND IT CAN COME IN MANY FORMS AND FASHIONS. POINT IS GRASS IS JUST GRASS. THE OTHER SIDE OR WHATEVER IS JUST THAT THE OTHERSIDE. SIN WILL CLOUD OUR JUDGEMENT AND MAKE US BELIEVE THE WORLD HAS SOMETHING BETTER TO OFFER THAN WHAT GOD HAS PROVIDED.

3: WE INFLUENCE OTHERS ..

  1. THE WAY WE LIVE
  2. THE THINGS WE SAY
  3. PLACES WE GO
  4. THE DECISIONS WE MAKE

THE BIBLE SAYS TO NOT MAKE AN OCCASION TO FALL IN A BROTHER’S WAY. TO NOT PUT A STUMBLING BLOCK IN OUR BROTHER’S WAY. SOME THINGS WE DO MIGHT BE OFFENSIVE OR HURTFUL TO SOME WHO ARE AROUND US. WE SHOULD SEEK TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND HAVE AS MUCH OF A POSITIVE INFLUENCE AS POSSIBLE. (not to be judgmental in a wrong thinking)

SACRIFICE (there’s a sacrifice in doing a right thing)

1: ROMANS 15:1 - 1 We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves

  1. WE THAT ARE STRONG (we strong our faith being a Christian)
  2. SOME CHRISTIANS ARE MORE MATURE
  3. SOME ARE NOT
  4. THE SEASONED VETERAN OF THE FAITH SHOULD HELP TO BEAR THE INFIRMITIES OF THE WEAK.

HOW YOU DEAL WITH PEOPLE ON A PERSONAL LEVEL WILL MAKE A HUGE IMPACT ON HOW THEY SEE CHRIST. DOING THE RIGHT THING EVEN WHEN IT IS NOT BENEFICAL TO YOU IS SHOWING NOT ONLY SACRIFICE BUT ALSO HUMILITY AND THOSE ARE TWO BIG CHARACTER TRAITS OF JESUS CHRIST.

2: RIGHT THING/ HARD THING

  1. IT’S HARD TO SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE
  2. HARD TO ALLOW SOMONE TO HAVE THE LAST WORD AT TIMES
  3. KEEP IN MIND THOUGH HOW YOU ACT AND RESPOND WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
  4. GOOD OR BAD

CONCLUSION: IT TAKES HURTING AT THE HANDS OF THOSE YOU LOVE SOMETIMES, IT CALLS FOR ALLOWING THOSE WEAKER OR LESS MATURE TO SEE YOU IN HUMILITY. THE RIGHT THING IS NOT ALWAYS THE EASIEST BUT IT IS ALWAYS THE BEST FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST.

Doing a right thing is a blessing from us because God will pour you out and He have a reward for this people who right thing to do esp’ly in the Glory of God
