Pastor Roger C. Marcos
July 22, 2018

Greetings:

In Him we live and move and have our being! The truth of the mater believe it or not our existence is a preparation of a so called ETERNITY.

I want to talk to you about baptism... one of the most controversial subject- So the reason I want to talk to you about baptism is, when it comes to religious doctrine, no Biblical teaching, especially one that is mentioned as clearly and as often as baptism is, seems to be denied and minimized to the extent that baptism has.

Some groups do not regard baptism as a definite part of salvation.and therefore it is an optional act that you can participate in after you have already been saved. It is simply an outward manifestation of what has already taken place.

I want to talk to you about baptism because many have become confused, and hopefully we can clear up some of the confusion that some of you may have.

I want to talk to you about baptism because some of you may be considering being baptized.

This is the most important question anyone could ever ask: “What must I do to be saved?”

What God calls Essential for Salvation, Men are Calling “Optional” and not “Essential”.

In Australia there are many Christians who believe that is relatively unimportant which church they attend. As consequence, churches that practice believer’s baptism, are receiving members who regard baptism as unimportant. What does the Bible teach?

Optional or Essential? Baptism is an act of identification with Christ and His saving It is a testimony that my old way of life is buried with Christ and I am walking in newness of life with Christ.

The New Testament pattern is belief and then baptism by immersion.

Jesus Himself set an example for us when He was baptized by John in the River Jordan and throughout His earthly ministry He baptized more people than John baptized though the actual baptisms were done by Jesus’ disciples:

Do We have the Right to Legislate and to choose what is Essential and What is Not?

Many Are Making Fun..WHY? Because it Contradicts Men’s Ideas and Beliefs!

1 Peter 3:20-21 (NKJV)

who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the Ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21 There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, NKJ

20 These were the spirits of those who had not obeyed God when he waited patiently during the days that Noah was building his boat. The few people in the boat-eight in all-were saved by the water, 21 which was a symbol pointing to baptism, which now saves you. It is not the washing off of bodily dirt, but the promise made to God from a good conscience. It saves you through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Baptism Save Us

Yes or No!

Type was the Prefiguring Example---13 The blood on the doorposts will be a sign to mark the houses in which you live. When I see the blood, I will pass over you and will not harm you when I punish the Egyptians. Ex. 12:13

13 But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt

Antitype was the Spiritual Reality. 9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. Rom. 5:9

Because Christ also suffered for sins once the righteous in the place of the unrighteous in order that he might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.

Active participle).

[to wait] (3rd, singular, imperfect, indicative,

Translation:

Who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting ["kept" = the force of the imperfect in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were saved through water.

Noah’s Salvation in the ark was the type; Our salvation in Christ is the Spiritual reality.. To those who never been baptize BAPTISM IS A PLEADGE OF LOYALTY.

Noah’s Salvation Required:

  • An Agent-God
  • Agency-- The flood of Water
  • A Vehicle to Use the Agency-- The Ark

  • An Agent-God
  • Agency-- The Resurrection of Jesus
  • A Vehicle to Use the Agency-- Baptism

1 Peter 3:20-21 (NKJV)
20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

Agency Plus Vehicle Equals Justification

Romans 4:24-25 (KJV)
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

1 Peter 3:20-21 (NKJV)
21 There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, ,

1 Peter 1:3 (KJV)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1 Peter 3:20-21 (NKJV)
21 There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, ,
